EA Games has filed a trademark registery for the name Need for Speed Arena. The trademark showed up in the database of the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
With the filing of the new trademark it is likely that the next Need for Speed game will be called Need for Speed Arena. The tradmark was filed on November 7th 2016 under the Computer Game Software and Entertainment Services categories.
The last Need for Speed game was released in 2015 and was developed by Ghost Games. The PC version of the game received average reviews when it launched.
Need for Speed Arena is expected to be launch in 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
