The Game Developer Conference has released a video of the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild developer session that it hosted earlier this year. In the session the game's developers dicuss the game's development process.
The new video was released last Friday and was recorded only two days before the game's release on March 3rd 2017. At that time Game Developer Conference 2017 was taking place in San Francisco, California.
In the session Nintendo's Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Satoru Takizawa, and Takuhiro Dohta provide an in-depth look at how some of the convention-breaking mechanics were implemented in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
This is done by comparing and contrasting between the latest game and previous titles in the franchise to see what makes The Legend of Zelda franchise tick.
GDC talks cover a range of developmental topics including game design, programming, audio, visual arts, business management, production, online games and more. Every once in a while GDC releases new video's of sessions to give those not able to attend a chance to see what game developers are up to.
