Rayman creator Michel Ancel has showcased a prototype of a Rayman game for the SNES on his Instagram account yesterday. The SNES version was made before work was started on the first game for the original PlayStation.
According to the images that Ancel released the game cartridge contains a development version of the game. Ancel claims the game runs at a solid 60 frames per second.
The game was first developed for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System but was canceled for unknown reasons. Later in 1995 a version for the original PlayStation, Saturn and Atari Jaguar would be released.
Many interested gamers have asked Ancel to dump the ROM of the cartridge so that fans of the franchise can play the game on a SNES emulator.
What happens with the game still remains to be seen. Other posts by Ancel indicate that the game could possibly make its way to the Nintendo Switch.
