Ukrainian development studio Vostok Games has announced its upcoming Battle Royale shooter game Fear The Wolves. The game drops players in a radioactive wasteland.
Fear The Wolves is said to be inspired by the classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise as the studio comprises former franchise developers.
The game will drop players in a Chernobyl-style radioactive wasteland. Deadly mutated wildlife, the organic spread of radiation, unexplainable anomalies, and 99 other players stand in their way on their march to the extraction helicopter inside the final zone.
Players will have to defend themselves with an arsenal of scavenged weaponry, including fire-axes, machine guns and more.
Unlike other Battle Royale games, the end game focuses on a single player being extracted by a helicopter. However, killing all players will also lead to victory. The location of the extraction zone will vary game to game, forcing adaptation and rewarding intricate map knowledge.
Fear The Wolves will be available via Steam Early Access this summer. It will also be making its way to consoles next year.
