EA Games has announced that it has launched a Day One patch for the PC version of Mass Effect: Andromeda. The patch is required because the retail disc release contains game breaking issues.
To inform gamers about the new patch the development studio has launched a special website that contains troubleshooting guides and a list of known issues.
Most of the issues fixed in the Day One patch are issues that have been reported by players who have played the game ahead of its launch this Thursday via EA Games' Origin Access.
The issues reported include a black screen on game start-up, broken alt-tab support, game failing to launch at all, Ryder being stuck in an animation and not respond to commands, HDR support issues and more.
The game's multiplayer component also features several issues, including sound bugs and missing or non-working interactions with objects.
The new patch is already available and can be downloaded as soon as the game is officially available this Thursday. A similar patch will also be available for the console versions of the game.
EA Games did not comment on why the issues were not found and fixed during internal quality assurance testing.
Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on March 23rd 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
