The development studio behind the free-to-play shooter game Warframe, Digital Extremes, has announced a new free-to-play shooter game titled Keystone.
While the shooter game Warframe was all about teamwork, Digital Extremes' next project is all about competitive gameplay and players will battle against each other.
The game seems to feature a cartoon art style that features a washed-out 1970s color palette. Keystone will take players on a journey through "a multi-verse that begins on the starting square of an intriguing, mystical board game".
Players will wield unique decks of cards throughout the match that offer handy benefits, powers, and weapons. With timing and resourcefulness, personally customized decks will give players the upper hand in battle both individually and when strategically coupled with teammates' decks.
The first closed alpha test for the game will start on May 26th 2017 and players will be able to sign up for it on a special webpage.
Keystone is currently in development for the PC. Whether the game will be making its way to consoles is still unknown.
