Development studio CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it has delayed the release of its upcoming action RPG game Cyberpunk 2077. The game is now scheduled to release in September.
According to the announcement released last week, the studio needs "more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing", due to the "sheer scale and complexity of it all."
The extra five months will be used to "make the game perfect" up to degree where the studio calls it its "crowning achievement for this generation".
The game is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future: Night City.
Players play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now scheduled to release on September 17, 2020, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
