Development studio Psyonix has released the Progression Update for Rocket League. The update brings major changes to XP and reward systems.
The new progression system gives players a new way to unlock free content. The random drop system has been replaced with a new system that awards a random item of "Uncommon" quality.
The new system also introduces various XP bonuses that help players level up faster. These bonuses are linked to various actions, such as completing a match without quitting, staying in the same lobby multiple matches, joining in-progress matches, and winning a certain number of matches per week.
The update also brings a host of other changes such as avatar border customization, particle details graphics option, new achievements and trophies, and a new in-game social feature called Clubs.
The new Clubs feature lets players organize and compete as a team within Rocket League. They will be able to name their Club, create a custom Club Tag and have up to 20 players unified as one.
This update also features a brand-new soundtrack featuring six new tracks from the Monstercat label.
Cross-platform party support was supposed to be included with this update but has been delayed to next month as the studio is still putting the finishing touches on the RocketID system.
The Rocket League Progression Update is now available for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
