Valve has acquired Firewatch and In The Valley of Gods developer Campo Santo, the studio confirmed earlier today. The twelve developers will continue working on current projects.
According to a recent press release, the studio's upcoming title
In The Valley of Gods will still be released, but now as a Valve title. The studio itself is expected to be relocated to Seattle, WA.

A clear reason for the acquisition wasn't given although the studio did note that it "found a group of folks who, to their core, feel the same way about the work that they do". The acquisition will likely help with the funding of the development of several titles, including
In The Valley of Gods.
Campo Santo is currently also working on bringing its indie hit game
Firewatch to the
Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch version is expected to be released later this year.
