Bethesda has announced the dates for its annual QuakeCon convention in Dallas, Texas. The event will start on August 9, 2018, and end on August 12, 2018.

During the event Bethesda and its parent company ZeniMax Media will showcase their latest products. However, the main attraction is the event's large competitive tournament LAN party, which some consider the "Woodstock" of gaming.

Last year the event had 2350 seats available for its competitive tournament. This year's event is said to double its capacity totaling at 4700 seats, which is still considered small compared to the popular LAN party DreamHack which has roughly 25.000 players attending annually.

QuakeCon is free for general attendees and open to the public. Those who wish to attend multiple days can book a hotel at a special room rate of $185 US per night.
