The Nintendo Store in New York has announced that the company will start taking a limited quantity of pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch starting tomorrow, January 13th 2017, while supplies last.

The new announcement is the first time that the company has commented on the availability of the upcoming console.

According to an insider source, the company will be accepting several thousand pre-orders spread over multiple store locations with supply expected to run out within an hour after the stores open at 9 AM EST.

It is surprising that Nintendo has already announced that it will be taking pre-orders for the console because the company still has not released an official release date nor console specifications. The launch line-up for the Nintendo Switch has also not been announced yet.

Nintendo will be hosting a Nintendo Switch press conference tomorrow in Tokyo, Japan, where it is expected to reveal more details on the release date, specifications and launch line-up.
