The closed beta test for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will start in February, development studio Ubisoft has announced. The game releases in March.

According to a recent announcement, the closed beta test will start on February 7, 2019, and last until February 11, 2019. Those who wish to participate will have to either pre-order the game or sign up via a special web page.

However, the sign-up web page will only give a handful of players access to the closed beta. This is because the studio wants players to pre-order the game instead. Ubisoft calls this scheme a "private beta".

In addition to announcing the closed beta, the development studio has also released a new story trailer for the game.

Earlier this month, Ubisoft pulled the game from Steam, stating that the game is now only available via its own Uplay Store and Epic's Game Store. The publisher did not comment on why it doesn't want to sell the game via Steam anymore.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 releases on March 15, 2019, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
