Bungie has announced that the sequel to the action shooter game Destiny, Destiny 2, will be launching on September 6, 2017. The game will be available for all major platforms.
According to a recent press release, the new title will take players on "an epic journey across the solar system." The new game will feature a new plot that doesn't seem to be directly related to the first game.
In Destiny 2 humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee.
Players will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, players must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim their home.
Along with the press release the development studio also released the reveal trailer for the game. The trailer features Computer-generated imagery and does not feature an real gameplay footage.
The first title in the franchise received mixed reviews and mostly received popularity on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Destiny 2 launches on September 6, 2017, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC version releases on October 24, 2017.
