Activision has released a free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone. The game is built on top of the recently released game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).

The battle royale game is set in the map Verdansk and contains over 300 locations, some of which are said to be inspired by previous games in the series. The game allows up to 150 players to play against each other in two different game modes and includes vehicles as a way of transportation.

The new game can be considered a free standalone expansion to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). The game uses many of the same assets, animations and sounds featured in its 'bigger brother'. Some progress earned and downloadable content bought can be transferred freely between the two.

Call of Duty: Warzone features two distrinct modes: Battle royale and Plunder. Only the second mode deserves extra explanation as it focuses on collecting money instead of surviving. Money can be collected by completing certain challenges or by killing opponents. The player with the most money collected will win the round. Both modes also feature a way to respawn if the player dies.

The game also features cross-platform multiplayer, allowing players to matchmake with friends playing on different consoles. On the PC, the game is only available via the Battle.net launcher.

Call of Duty: Warzone released on March 9, 2020, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

This comment has been removed. I love this on XBOX ONE, I got Playstation 4 as well but prefer it on PC, waiting for Switch version!
