Tactical sea combat game Abandon Ship gets Spider Islands update
Friday, May 31, 2019 - 13:26 GMT

Indie development studio Fireblade Software has released a new update for its tactical sea combat game Abandon Ship. The Spider Islands update introduces three new regions for players to explore.

The three new regions to explore are The Spider Islands, Cannibal's Lurk, and Peril's Cauldron. These new regions are filled with unique islands and quests, some with lasting consequences on the environment.

The update also expands the game's ship systems to allow players to control some of the AI controlled ships via the Visual Blueprints menu. Players can obtain a vessel's blueprint by capturing it intact.

In Abandon Ship players take control of a ship and its crew as they explore a procedurally generated world, take on quests and deal with random, and sometimes life-threatening, events.

Players will end up engaging other ships in combat and they will have to employ their best tactics in order to out-manoeuvre and out-gun the enemy. The game focuses on bringing “Age of Sail” ships in a fantasy setting, framed in an art style inspired by classic Naval Oil Paintings.
