Valve has introduced Steam Link Anywhere to the latest beta build of Steam. The new functionality allows players to stream games over the internet instead of just their local network.

Steam beta build 688 allows players to stream games to any Steam Link capable device from any computer running Steam, as long as their connection allows it. The new functionality is still in early beta testing.

The update is significant because Steam Link was previously limited to local network streaming only because it requires high upload speeds to deliver a quality gaming experience. This restriction is now lifted for those who have a good internet connection.

Players who are interested in testing out the new functionality can update their Steam client to a beta build dated March 13 or newer and add another computer via the client's settings window.
