The upcoming major update for the shooter game Insurgency: Sandstorm will be released later today. The update was announced two weeks ago.
The new update features several major changes compared to the current pre-purchase build, including migration to Unreal Engine 4.20, the new "Precinct" map, community dedicated servers and an improved server browser.
In addition, the update features new anti-aliasing and other additional graphical settings, low scope quality improvements, improvements to character animation and movement and various balance improvements.
Numerous gameplay tweaks to movement speed, weapon mechanics, armour, fire support, map layouts, and hundreds of bug fixes and improvements are also included.
According to a recent announcement, the update will now also feature "a series of new optimizations to push frame rates higher and reduce micro-stuttering" and the new Alpha AK assault rifle weapon for the Insurgent Advisor class.
The game was supposed to release in September but was delayed when a significant amount of players reported performance issues.
The new update is expected to release later today at around 12 PM PST / 8 PM GMT.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is scheduled to release on December 12, 2018, but those who prepurchase the game can already play the open beta.
