The parachute system in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has received a major overhaul with the game's latest update. The game has also hit the 1 million concurrent PC players milestone again.

The new parachute system introduced with update 24 is a major overhaul of the older system, which forced game servers to keep track and simulate movements. This caused stuttering, rubber-banding and jittery animations.

The new system focuses on making sure the parachute and landing experience is as smooth as possible, giving players more control over their landing and providing better responsiveness for fluid gameplay.

Those who haven't played in a while will instantly notice they will need a new tactic to land as fast as possible. Those who wish to "high chute" to distant locations will be pleased to learn that the maximum distance has been increased as well.

The battle royale game is still very popular in the PC community. In October the game dipped below the 1 million concurrent PC players mark. This seemed to be a permanent decline, but a recent influx of players sees it going well above this number again this past week.
