The upcoming indie platformer game Eagle Island has made its way to Kickstarter. The game combines pixel art with a modern take on classic side-scrolling platformer gameplay.
In the game players play as Quill as he explores the avian world of Eagle Island together with his one of his loyal owls Koji. Together they must fight their way through lush forests and treacherous caverns to rescue Quill's brother from the clutches of a monstrous eagle.
The game features an interesting world generation system to power its its level design, as it is capable of creating unique worlds that are procedurally generated. In total the game features 9 unique environments filled with random power ups and magical items.
As players play, they will find that they are able to make good use of their companion Koji, as the two can work together to quickly take out enemies with a variety of different attacks and combos.
The game is currently in development at Pixelnicks, an indie game development studio founded by game developer Nick Gregory.
Eagle Island is now listed on Kickstarter where the indie development studio hopes to secure £20,000 to fund further development. At the time of writing, the campaign sits at £5,274 pledged and 329 backers with 24 days to go.
