A former employee of Hello Games has abused the game developer's Twitter account on Friday, tweeting that "No Man's Sky was a mistake". The employee also sent several fake apology e-mails supposedly signed by the company's founder Sean Murray.
On Friday morning a new tweet appeared on Hello Games' official Twitter page stating that "No Man's Sky was a mistake". In the hours that followed the tweet was subsequently removed.
According to a Hello Games representative the tweet was the work of a "hacker" who abused a LinkedIn account that was linked to the game developer's Twitter page.
The new tweet comes months after Hello Games founder Sean Murray's last public activity on August 18th. Murray stopped talking to press and customers because of the overwhelmingly negative feedback the company received following the launch of No Man's Sky.
Hello Games still has not officially commented on why the studio purposely mislead thousands of gamers by suggesting that the game would feature a lot more content and gameplay mechanics before it was officially available.
We reviewed No Man's Sky after the game developer released several patches to rectify some of the game's issues and gave it a 6 out of 10, noting that the game is "nothing more than a glorified tech demo."
While the game developer still is not replying to any inquiries from the video game press, Murray did tell Forbes that the tweets were posted by a "disgruntled employee" and that the company is "currently trying to solve the issue internally.".
