Now that the PC version is available on Steam the game has received hundreds of negative reviews since its release earlier today. In the reviews players primarily complain about the changes development studio Raven Software has made since the game's launch in 2016.
The changes include the introdution of a microtransaction model that allowed players to acquire lootboxes that not just contain skins, but also weapons that handle differently and feature different damage output compared to weapons that are available by default.
Players also complain about the game's poor PC optimization and incredibly poor framerates. Some players are reporting that the game doesn't go over 30 frames per second while the PlayStation 4 version easily manages to hit 60 frames per second.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is now available separately on Steam. It retails for $39.99 in North America and €39,99 in Europe.
