Nintendo has confirmed that the upcoming Mario platformer game Super Mario Odyssey will not feature the iconic "Game Over" screen that was visible in previous Mario titles.
The lack of the iconic game over screen was confirmed by the official Japanese Super Mario Odyssey Twitter account earlier this week.
Instead of the default game over screen players will simply see their currency decrease by ten every time they die. Once players are out of currency the same screen will appear, but the counter will not decrease.
The lack of a game over screen indicates that Nintendo is aiming to make the upcoming platformer as casual friendly as possible.
Super Mario Odyssey launches on October 27, 2017, for Nintendo Switch.

This comment has been removed. The ones in sunshine and galaxy weren't that well designed (the font was horrible) but I still liked the nostalgic jingle that plays.
