Indie development studio Cat Logic Games has announced that it has launched a Kickstarter campaign for their top-down 2D action adventure pixel art game The Path To Die.
The indie title is a 2D action adventure pixel art game set in Feudal Japan. The game features a vast environment surrounding the Imperial Palace in a detailed 2D pixel art adventure.
On the combat side players will be able to experience fierce fighting to the death with traditional Japanese weapons. Players will be able to control the swing of their katana based on the movements of their mouse or gamepad joysticks. This allows players to combine attacks as they see fit and makes combat a lot more immersive.
The game also focuses on exploration by allowing players to explore the game world with near total freedom, though some buildings or areas will only be accessible by advancing through the game's singleplayer story campaign.
The game has been in development for a year and a half and, depending on how successful its Kickstarter campaign will be, will be released on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch later this year.
At the time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign already has 32 backers with roughly $1,000 pledged of its ambitious $30,000 goal.
