The popular Battle Royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be getting a map selection option via an upcoming update, development studio Bluehole announced.
According to the recent announcement, the map selection option will allow players to select which maps they wish to include in matchmaking. If players include multiple maps the game will randomly select one of them each time.
The map selection option has been one of the most requested features ever since the game's second map Miramar was released. The release of the map even lead players to remove map files to prevent the game from including it during the matchmaking process.
The option was said to be designed to prevent map selection from causing issues during matchmaking. However, screenshots show that the new option is just a plain and simple list with toggleable items.
The map selection option is expected to be released on the game's test server next week. It will be making its way to live servers a week later depending on player feedback.
