Nintendo will not be stopping the production of its Wii U console. Various media outlets reported today that Nintendo would stop production of the console this week.

In a statement Nintendo debunked rumors reported by various media outlets that the company would stop the production of the Nintendo Wii U console because of the future release of the Nintendo Switch.
Even though Nintendo is working on developing the Nintendo Switch, the company says that it will continue to support the Wii U regardless of the upcoming release of the new console.

The Nintendo Switch is scheduled to launch in March of 2017.
