Grand Theft Auto producer and lead developer Leslie Benzies has announced that he has started a new game development studio following a legal dispute over royalty payments with Rockstar Games.
Last year Benzies left Rockstar Games after he was reportedly "forced out" by two Rockstar Games founders Sam Houser and Dan Houser. After having left the development studio he sued his ex-employer for £105 million in unpaid royalties.
According to Scotland newspaper the Scotsman, Benzies has now launched several new companies, two of which are directly related to game development.
The first company is named Royal Circus Games Limited and will reportedly work on the development of games for the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the mobile platforms Android and iOS. Benzies has also trademarked the phrase "Time for a New World" and the hashtag "#TFANW".
The other company is titled VR-Chitect Limited and will reportedly work on the development of virtual reality hardware and software, though exact details were not released.
It is unknown when Benzies will release more information on what his new development studio is creating, but it seems that it may be revealed sooner than expected.
