EA Games has announced that it will be showing the first gameplay footage of the upcoming shooter game Star Wars: Battlefront 2 in April.
The first gameplay footage will be released on April 15th 2017 during a panel hosted at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, USA. The panel is titled "Galaxywide Premiere of Star Wars Battlefront 2" and will include talks by various game developers from Dice, Criterion and Motive.
The existance of the sequel to the original game was already confirmed back in November when EA Games CFO Blake Jorgensen stated that the game would be released in the fall of 2017.
According to Jorgensen, the game will feature "bigger and better worlds" and it will make use of content from "the new Star Wars movies", though he did not mention which movies specifically. The first game mostly featured content from the original Star Wars trilogy.
