Candy Crush developer King has announced that it is working on a mobile Call of Duty game. The new game was confirmed by Activision Blizzard.
According to the press release, King will be working on "adapting" the franchise to become "a mobile experience". The mobile game developer is known for its involvement in the development of several low quality Facebook games such as Candy Crush and Farm Heroes.
It is not surprising that the mobile game developer is working on a Call of Duty game because the company was acquired by Call of Duty franchise rights holder Activision Blizzard for $5.9 billion USD in February 2016.
Other than the announcement not much is known about what type of Call of Duty game King is creating. The development team states that it "will prototype extensively" and that it has the "freedom to think outside the box, and be encouraged to stretch their expertise in ways to create surprising results," indicating that the development of the game is in very early stages.
