CD Projekt Red has announced that the Xbox One X update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available. The update brings support for 4K resolution rendering.

The new update introduces a number of graphical tweaks to the game that can be enabled via two separate modes: 4K mode and performance mode.

In 4K mode the game will render at 4K resolution with enhanced shadows, ambient occlusion and higher resolution textures. This mode will run at 30 frames per second.

The performance mode renders the game at either 1080P or 4K resolution via dynamic resolution scaling while targetting 60 frames per second.

The PlayStation 4 Pro has also received a similar update in October. The studio notes it plans to release an additional update for PlayStation 4 players in the near future.

4K resolution rendering and high resolution textures were already available on the PC version of the game since the game's launch.
