Indie WWII shooter game Battalion 1944 has seen a daily increase of players in its first week following the full release. The game was funded with a Kickstarter campaign in 2016.

Battalion 1944 is said to bring back the classic World War II multiplayer shooter experience by delivering gameplay that resembles that of classic Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games.

In the past seven days the game has seen a daily increase of concurrent players, roughly 4400 at its peak on Thursday, which is surprising considering its poor reception during its Early Access development phase.

A reason for this continued increase could be related to several popular streamers broadcasting the game. However, Steam user reviews also show a positive trend despite its current mixed average rating.

The game's development was funded with a Kickstarter campaign in 2016 where roughly 10,000 backers pledged £317,281. It was made available on Steam Early Access on February 1, 2018, and officially released on May 23, 2019.
