Sony has announced that the classic Rockstar Games title Red Dead Redemption will be available on PlayStation Now later this year. With a PlayStation Now subscription the game will finally be playable on the PC.
Gamers will be able to experience the game on PC because PlayStation Now lets users stream games to both PlayStation 4 and PC. A PlayStation 4 console is not required to play games from the PlayStation Now library on the PC.
Because the game is streamed to the users PC there may be performance and controller issues depending the player's internet speed.
With PlayStation Now the game will be rendered in the cloud after which the rendered image will be sent to the players PC. To control the game the client running on the PC will send the input back to the cloud servers.
To get access to the PlayStation Now library of games players will have to pay a subscription fee of €16.99 per month. The service currently supports over 300 titles.
Sony has not yet given a release date for Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation Now but did note that it will release more information soon.
