Development studio Psyonix has announced that the Rocket League Radical Summer event will start on June 10, 2019. The event is said to be a summer-long celebration of '80s blockbusters, culture, and television.

The nine-week event will contain new free items to unlock, the new limited-time game mode Ghost Hunt and more. The event starts on June 10, 2019, and ends on August 12, 2019.

The event will be split in three different phases, each focusing on a different '80s genre: Blockbusters between June 10th and June 30th, Culture between July 1st and July 21st and Television between July 22nd and August 12th.

During the event, players will be able to participate in a new limited-time game mode called Ghost Hunt. In this mode players must capture the ball and carry it to the opposing team's containment zone to score a point.

Two other limited-time game modes will also be available: Spike Rush mode and Beach Ball mode.

In addition to the events, the studio has also announced two new paid downloadable content car packs: Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car Pack and Knight Rider Car Pack. Both complement the existing Back to the Future Car Pack.

The Golden Egg will once again return from the Anniversary Event. Up to five Golden Eggs can be acquired for each phase of the event.
