ArenaNet CEO and co-founder Mike O'Brien has announced that the next Living World update for the MMORPG game Guild Wars 2 will be launching in February.
In a recent post on the game's official forum O'Brien states that the development team behind the game is wrapping up work on the fourth Living World episode of this season.
The last Living World update, Living World Season 2 Episode 3 "A Crack in the Ice", was released last November and followed the aftermath of the game's first expansion Heart of Thorns: a flood of unbound magic, the rise of two Elder Dragons, and the birth of the dragon Glint’s child, Aurene.
The episode that will be released next month is expected to continue the Living World story where it left off in the new area Bitterfrost Frontier, which is connected to the existing level 80 zone Frostgorge Sound.
Aside from new content the update will also include fixes for AB map multi-looting which influenced the game's economy. After the fix players will only be able to loot the great and grand chests once each time they complete the map's meta event, once per map cycle.
Another welcomed addition is the inclusion of a new, challenging group-farming spot for tier 6 leather crafting materials to bring down its price on the game's trading post.
Not included in this update is the legendary armor that was revealed last October nor any major skill balance changes. Both are expected to be released at a later date.
