Sega has announced a new Sonic game called Project Sonic 2017. The game is being developed by Sonic Team, the team was also responsible for the development of Sonic Colors and Sonic Generation.

Earlier today Sega also announced a new retro Sonic game called Sonic Mania. That game will take the series back to its root, featuring the same 8-bit graphics as the first titles in the franchise.
