Publisher Perfect World Entertainment has announced that it will bring Star Trek Online to next-gen consoles. The game is a free to play Star Trek-themed MMORPG and has been available for PC since February 2010. The Xbox One and Playstation 4 version of the game will come with the recently released expansion for the game, Delta Rising.

Aside from the expansion content, players of the next-gen console version of the game are also able to gain access to the 11 story seasons of the game that were released as part of free updates, with season 11.5 released last month which expanded upon the content of season 11.

According to the game's developer, Cryptic Studios, the next-gen version of the game also features an updated engine resulting in optimized graphics. Besides that various minor tweaks have been made to optimize the game for controller-only gameplay.

The free to play next-gen console version of the game is set to release this fall for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
