Rare has released new footage of the co-op capabilities of the upcoming pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves. The game is set in an open world multiplayer environment.

The new gameplay shows how players have to work together to navigate their ship by using the world map and by scouting ahead to avoid things that do not show up on the map.
Also discussed in the video is how players are able to rob other players when they try to loot treasure chests. Players will be able to ambush others by hiding in buildings or bushes and kill them if they move past.

In November the development studio launched an Insider program for the game that allows players to play the game early through early access and to get an insight in the game's development process.

Sea of Thieves is expected to launch in 2017 for PC and Xbox One.
