Bethesda has announced the first closed beta test for the upcoming first person shooter game Quake Champions. The game was announced in June of 2016.

Just like previous titles in the Quake franchise, Quake Champions will be a fast-paced first person shooter and players will have to pick up weapons from predefined weapon spawn locations. There will be no limit on how many weapons a player can carry and the game will not feature character loadouts.

For the closed beta test the company has launched a new webpage that allows interested gamers to sign up for the closed beta test that is scheduled to start next month.

Bethesda and id Software hope to turn the game into a popular e-sport game. The two companies are expected to host Quake related tournaments when the game officially launches later this year.

In the weeks to come the company will be releasing more videos to show in-depth gameplay footage with the two videos expected to be released later this week.
