The remastered edition of the original Call of Duty 4 game is said to contain the full singleplayer campaign and only 10 of the multiplayer maps. In addition the remastered version will most likely make use of peer to peer matchmaking functionality for its multiplayer component, instantly making the remastered edition worse than the original title.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was widely popular when it released back in 2007 and is still considered being one of the best Call of Duty games of the franchise. After the release of the game many more titles followed, 9 to be exact, that were all lesser quality. Fans of the franchise consider recent Call of Duty games to be milking the succes of the original Modern Warfare game, claiming the newer titles bring no innovation or gameplay changes.
The remastered edition is expected to release alongside the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
