Players start in their apartment after another routine day at the office and their adventure starts from there. The story line will progress with the completion of main missions.

Main missions will be accessed from your car outside the apartment. During its Early Access development phase the area will be expanded with a freeroam hub which will open up to other parts of the city with optional missions with progression of the game.

The plot will branch out at certain points leading down alternate paths and levels. As such, the game will also offer multiple endings.

Project Downfall currently features six levels, of which four are multi-staged, a dynamic soundtrack, no health regeneration and a combo kill and style system. The retail version will contain over 20 levels, a nonlinear story line with progression and multiple endings, a freeroam hub with activities and secrets, brutality finishers, leaderboards, achievements and more.
