EA Games has announced that the open beta test for Battlefield V will start in early September, one month before the game's October release.
In Battlefield V players will "lead their squad to victory" with new ways to turn the battlefield to their advantage, such as building fortifications, repair war-torn structures, or tow stationary weapons.
They will also be able to customize their company of soldiers, weapons, and vehicles in both online and co-op multiplayer modes.
Last month the studio started a closed beta test for the game where it focused almost entirely on inviting "influencers". These so-called influencers are mostly YouTubers and Twitch streamers.
Why EA Games focuses on influencers has to do with the company's marketing plan: it sees gamers with many followers or subscribers as a cheap and easy way to market the game.
Battlefield V will release on October 19, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
