In the expansion players navigate the twisted depths in a battle to reach the surface of Inkopolis as they take on a variety of mission types packed with new challenges not available in the original game.

Those who complete the expansion will be able to join multiplayer matches as an Octoling character.

In addition to this story mode expansion, Nintendo has also announced a free update coming to the game, version 3.0, which adds a total of three new multiplayer maps, over 100 clothing items and more.

The Splatoon 2: Octo expansion pack will be released this summer via Nintendo's eShop. It is expected to retail for $19.99 US in North America and €19.99 in Europe.
