Indie development studio Bulkhead Interactive has announced that it will be releasing a British Armed Forces content update for its competitive shooter game Battalion 1944 next year.
The British faction will be introduced to the competitive reworks of Savoia, Docks and Invasion. The update is part of the game's year-one content roadmap.
The update will also bring some highly requested weapons to the game, such as the Lee-Enfield rifle and the Sten submachine gun. It is expected that these will replace other weapons currently available on the three maps.
The roadmap that was revealed earlier today details content updates for the first year post release. The game came out of its Early Access development phase in May.
The content announced with the roadmap ranges from more frequent balance and quality-of-life patches and development previews to new seasonal weapon skins and map rework.
The first upcoming update that is visible on the roadmap is the Summer Seasonal Update. This update will release on August 1, 2019, and marks the beginning of the next competitive and BattleRank season.
The Battalion 1944 year-one content roadmap is part of the development studio's commitment to the game. It secured additional funding from its publisher Square Enix last month because of continued popularity. The publisher currently holds a 20 percent stake in the game development studio.
The full content roadmap is available on the game's Steam community hub. The British faction will be introduced in early 2020.
