Indie development studio Nightdive Studios has released a new gameplay video of a new build of its System Shock remake. The development of the game was put on hold earlier this year.

According to an announcement, the new "Adventure Alpha" build will allow Kickstarter backers to freely traverse Citadel Station, pick up items, listen to audio logs, read emails and complete the game's objectives from start to finish.

The new alpha build features the original levels using the original textures with the purpose of getting the entire game rebuilt in a modern engine. From there, the studio will likely start introducing new features and enhancements.

Back in February the studio stated it had put development of the game on hold to "reassess" its path. The prototype game was powered by the Unity game engine, but the studio has since switched the game over to Unreal Engine.
