Oculus has confirmed that it has acquired the Danish eyetracking startup The Eye Tribe. The company focused on the development of eyetracking software.

The Eye Tribe consists of 16 developers who worked on software that tracks eye movement to control computers and other hardware. Both Oculus and The Eye Tribe did not disclose further details.

Oculus will most likely use the technology to enhance the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. The new technology may be able to allow users to interact with ingame user interfaces by simply moving their eyes.

Oculus also did not disclose how many of the 16 developers from The Eye Tribe will transfer to the Oculus development team.
