The popular Battle Royale shooter game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds may be getting a region lock via an upcoming update. The function is currently being tested.
The new region lock function is said to "improve network issues" and "help with linguistic barriers".
Players of the game have long requested a region lock function because Chinese hackers often join North American and European servers to wreak havoc.
The new region lock will ensure that players will only see servers that are related to their own region while still allowing them to team up with friends living in other regions.
The function is currently being tested on the game's test server for Korean and Japanese players only.
If the test is a success the changes are expected to make their way to live servers later this month.
