Turtle Rock Studios has announced that it will re-release the first-person shooter Evolve as free-to-play game. The game will be rebranded as Evolve Stage 2.
The developer claims the new update will bring all-new content and features to the game that players have asked for. All of the original Evolve content will also be available in Evolve Stage 2. Players who have purchased the original game will receive a special founder status, allowing them to access bonus items and exclusive content, including badges, skins and cosmetic items.
In addition to new content the developer also states that it will improve several areas of the game, including maps, user interface and improved performance and loading speeds.
A beta version of Evolve Stage 2 will be available for players with the founder status and is completely free of charge. In the coming weeks and months Turtle Rock is planning to release several beta updates to introduce new features and content.
