Game developer Campo Santo has announced that the indie game Firewatch has received a Freeroam game mode via a new update. The update also brings support for the PlayStation 4 Pro console.
In the new Freeroam game mode players are able to freely roam through the game's virtual forest. Unlike the game's campaign, the new mode will feature a dynamic weather system that causes weather conditions to change based on a 24 hour cycle.
The PlayStation 4 version of the game has also received a PlayStation 4 Pro update to allow the game to run at higher resolution.
The new patch does not actually allow the game to run at the expected 4K resolution but instead allows it to render the game's world at 2560 by 1440 pixels. The game's user interface does render at 4K resolution.
