Microsoft has announced that the popular building game Minecraft will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in May 2017. The game will be released on the console's eShop first.
The Nintendo Switch version of the game will feature optimized control schemes and user interfaces to be able to play the game without running into issues. The game will feature online multiplayer for up to 8 players and a splitscreen multiplayer mode for up to 4 players.
Players who purchase the game will receive the same content pack as the one that came with the Nintendo Wii U version of the game. The content pack features skins and items of iconic Nintendo franchises, including Super Mario, Princess Peach, Bowser and Toad.
The Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft will be released on May 11th 2017 via the console's eShop. A physical release is expected to be coming later this year.
