Bethesda has announced that the playable demo for the upcoming shooter game Prey is now available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The demo was not released on the PC.
In the demo, which is titled Prey Demo: Opening Hour, players are put in the role of Morgan Yu at the very start of the game. Your first day on the job quickly takes a dark turn, with aliens hunting down any surviving crewmembers, including you.
After awakening on Talos I, Morgan finds the station overrun by a previously contained non-terrestrial entity called Typhon, which the scientists had been studying and using to improve the scope of human abilities.
Aided by strange alien-based powers, Morgan must survive the incursion, uncover the mysteries surrounding the Typhon and save humanity from the impending danger aboard the station.
The demo version of the game is only available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Bethesda did not comment on why it chose to not release a PC version, but it could be related to poor PC optimization.
Prey is scheduled to launch on May 5th 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
