Take-Two Interactive has announced that it has sold over 70 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V. The sales figure includes the sales of all versions of the game, including the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Grand Theft Auto V was first released in September 2013 when it launched on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A year later the game made its way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Roughly 2 years after the release of the game on consoles the game finally made its way to the PC in 2015.

According to the publisher the online component of the game, Grand Theft Auto Online, also keeps growing. A year ago the multiplayer game mode had over 8 million gamers playing, but it is unclear how many players the game mode has now.

The net turnover for Take-Two Interactive, which includes both Rockstar Games and 2K Games, has grown with 21% compared to the same period last year to $420.2 million USD.

Despite the growth of net turnover the publisher's net profit went down compared to last year from $54.7 million USD to $36.4 million USD. A reason for the lower profit figures have not been given.
